A countrified comedy musical about the man they call The Beetrooter, the politician who refuses to lay down and die, no matter what the scandal.
The makers of the hit show "Gladys: A Musical Affair" are at it again with a musical tribute to "Australia's best retail politician", Barnaby Joyce. Gather round the old-fashioned microphone as the multi-instrumentalist Barnaby takes you on a musical ride through his life, accompanied by his crack country band and some very special guests. It's a B&S with no BS, a bush dance and a bluegrass hoedown as we take you from accountancy in the bush to the pavement in Canberra. In between, you’ll hear Barnaby tackling gay marriage, divorce and cancer, and of course, threatening to murder Johnny Depp’s dogs.

Nick and Tia are the creative forces behind Watch & Act Productions, an independent Australian theatre company, crafting unique musical theatre and cabaret shows. With a combined wealth of theatrical and musical experience, they specialise in blending sharp comedy, political satire, and powerful musical storytelling. Nick and Tia have created and performed in a variety of formats and ventures, including the hit touring musical Gladys, as well as their musical comedy duo 'Rheinberger & Wilson', performing in festivals nation-wide.

Gladys: A Musical Affair is an absolute must for NSW theatre lovers. It’s loud, cheeky, and seriously funny — a total festival highlight that turns political drama into a toe-tapping musical packed with sass and satire. It’s clever, catchy, and no surprise it sold out at the Jetty Theatre. Audiences loved it and the post-show buzz was palpable! The cast were super down-to-earth, no drama, just straightforward fun to be around. Highly recommend checking it out!
