Our Story
Watch & Act Productions was born from the passion and creative synergy of Nick Rheinberger and Tia Wilson — two artists dedicated to crafting bold, original Australian musical theatre and sharp political satire. With decades of combined experience in live performance, composing, and storytelling, Nick and Tia have built a company that challenges, entertains, and connects with audiences across NSW and beyond.
From their acclaimed works like Watch and Act: A Rock Opera and Gladys: A Musical Affair, to their dynamic live shows blending music, comedy, and theatre, Watch & Act Productions stands at the forefront of independent Australian theatre — delivering productions that are as thought-provoking as they are entertaining.
Meet the Creators
At the heart of Watch & Act Productions are Nick Rheinberger and Tia Wilson — a dynamic creative duo shaping the future of independent Australian musical theatre and political satire. Together, they combine expert songwriting, sharp wit, and compelling performance to deliver bold, original productions that resonate with audiences across NSW and beyond.
Nick Rheinberger
Broadcaster. Songwriter. Storyteller. Nick Rheinberger is a multi-hyphenate creative force with a passion for bringing bold, original ideas to life on stage and over the airwaves.
With over thirty years in radio — twenty of them as Mornings Presenter for ABC Illawarra — Nick has honed his voice as a sharp, thoughtful communicator. His writing credits span radio comedy, television favourites like Good News Week, Backberner and the tween series Minty.
On stage, Nick’s work includes the one-man play Galvanised and the critically praised Watch and Act, a rock opera drawn from his experience as an emergency broadcaster during the Black Summer bushfires.
Together with Tia Wilson, he co-created Gladys: A Musical Affair — a runaway hit at the 2024 Sydney Fringe Festival, now touring across NSW.
Tia Wilson
Tia Wilson is a cabaret performer, musician and actor with over 25 years of experience performing at festivals and stages around Australia.
Known for her sharp wit, big stage presence and distinctive voice, Tia has fronted everything from musical comedy groups like Cheeky Tzatziki to the viral Premier Gladys videos that kept Australians laughing through lockdown.
She’s one half of Rheinberger and Wilson, a duo known for original comedy cabaret and musical theatre that blends humour, heart and a healthy dose of mischief. Tia is currently touring with Gladys: A Musical Affair, a musical comedy about leadership, disaster — and one very public romance.
